The challenge

For companies in the footwear sector, managing collections with numerous variations in colour, materials and finishes means facing high costs and lengthy lead times when producing product images.

The aim was to achieve a perfectly consistent presentation of the entire collection, maintaining the same framing, lighting, reflections and visual quality for every variant. At the same time, the client wanted to offer its users a simple, intuitive and engaging online personalisation experience.

The solution

We created a photorealistic 3D model of the trainer based on technical drawings, photographs and physical samples, accurately recreating the geometry, materials and construction details.

Thanks to a dedicated 3D workflow, we were able to quickly generate all the variants in the collection whilst maintaining maximum visual consistency throughout.

To complete the solution, we developed an interactive web-based 3D configurator that allows users to customise the product directly in their browser, without having to install any additional plugins or software.

The configurator allows you to:

  • choose colours and materials;

  • view changes in real time;

  • personalise the product with names and text;

  • explore the 3D model from every angle.

Where it can be used

This solution can be used in a wide range of contexts:

  • e-commerce;

  • product configurators;

  • digital and printed catalogues;

  • corporate websites;

  • virtual showrooms;

  • trade fairs and events;

  • sales presentations;

  • marketing and social media campaigns.

The benefits

Using the 3D workflow has made it possible to:

  • quickly create new product variants;

  • maintain consistency across e-commerce, catalogues and promotional materials;

  • eliminate the need to photograph every single version of the trainer;

  • reduce content production times and costs;

  • easily update colours, materials and customisations;

  • offer an interactive experience that increases customer engagement.

Behind the solution

Each trainer has been developed using a meticulous modelling and optimisation process to ensure the highest level of realism and flexibility.

The workflow includes:

  • high-precision 3D modelling;

  • development of photorealistic materials and textures;

  • reconstruction of leathers, stitching and finishes;

  • dedicated lighting for catalogue images;

  • high-resolution photorealistic rendering;

  • development of the real-time 3D web configurator.
